Last week we invited you to read aloud being aware about the “S + consonant” at the beginning of the words. So let’s start (NOT estart) with a new lesson.
This week we are going to focus on the -ED ending. Look at the following words:
Walked
Called
Voted
Despite all of them have the same ending, the three endings are expected to sound different:
For the word “walked” the -ed ending should sound /t/ (wokt)
For the word “called” the -ed ending should sound /d/ (cold)
For the word “voted” the -ed ending should sound /Id/ (vouted the e is not an open vowel)
Listen
Now look at the list below and practice the ending sounds.
This week we want you to focus on both s+consonant at the beginning, and -ed ending. Read aloud and continue with your Journal writing.
